I bought these strings for a Fender Jazz bass, 4 string and the feel, tone and punch is just what I have been dreaming of for decades. Tension and stiffness is just a tad on the higher, which I like. Very nice grip and you feel you have something under you fingers. Surface is very fine, not rough and not slippery. Articulation is great. I could dial in eq seetings default and they sound good right out of the package. Adding some mids and bass makes me smile. Did not have to wait a certain time for break in. I run the neck PU full, bridge PU 80% and tone 60% open. Full tight and firm tone. No harshness.

After trying all brands, steel, nickel, flats - I have finally arrived. These strings will be my future GO-TO strings. I strongly recommend these strings. If you like to have something under your fingers, like me, then I can say that 50-70-90-110 is not too thick. Your fingers know exactly where they are positioned and you can really dig in.

Regarding the instrument itself, I am still exploring the possibilities but electric guitar enthusiasts have been amazed at the sound and feel of it. I still cannot believe how accurate the dots are for intonation, it's a great help to transfer skills to an acoustic cello as well.

I have two of these Speakeasy bass guitars alongside several vintage SGC Nanyo models. The modern version holds its head high compared with the older ones. I tend to take one of each era out with me when gigging and, to be honest, people tend to compliment me on the sound with the Speakeasy version more than when using one of the originals!

If you are after a bass, particularly if you find the neck radius and body dimensions of the majority of the market cumbersome, you will not be disappointed by a Speakeasy. The vintage Nanyos are great but tend to need the pre-amp and barrel jack replacing if they still have the original components.
